Simple yet delicious roasted broccoli. The perfect low-carb, nutrient dense side dish. The secret in this recipe to achieve crispy yet juicy broccoli, is to preheat the oven with the sheet pan in it. The uncooked broccoli hitting the hot pan creates a nice seared and crispy effect.

1 large head of broccoli or 12oz bag of broccoli florets

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place baking sheet in oven. We want to heat up the baking sheet in the preheating oven. Preheat oven to 425° F
  2. Chop broccoli into small florets. Add chopped broccoli large bowl
  3. Add olive oil to broccoli and stir to coat
  4. Add salt and pepper to broccoli and stir to coat
  5. Once the oven is preheated remove the hot sheet pan and put broccoli onto the sheet in an single layer. It should sizzle.
  6. Bake broccoli for about 15-20 minutes until some pieces have touches of dark dark brown (almost black) crispy parts on the florets.
  7. Remove and let cool for a few minutes. Eat immediately to get the most crunch!
